He had his basic Islamic education in Darul Uloom, Lucknow and completed his Majlis and azkarah (public preaching) from Darul Uloom Deoband. He also did higher studies of Tafsir, Fiqh and Quraniyyat from reputable scholars like Maulana Abdul Haq, Maulana Sufyan Nawaz Jangani (Maulana), Maulana Sadruddin Dagar (Maulani), Allama Hatim Ali Rajwane-Hafiz, Maulani Abid Hasan Qadri and many others. Maulana Azamuddin was born in Bihar in October 12, 1934. He started his studies at Darul Uloom Deoband in India at the age of 11.
